2022 EP, My Way. As an independent artist, few things are more important than your drive to succeed and Trevor Joseph is an unstoppable force who has it in abundance. A self-made self-starter who produced, mixed, mastered and did everything on his first studio project from making the beats, writing and recording the songs, to shooting and editing the music videos, and photos. My Way is a statement project with ambient sounds and unorthodox hip hop instrumentals which provide the listener with chant like, encouraging words to keep pushing forward in the stride to accomplish the life they want.

Track 1 "Man." Man is about maturity. There comes a time in a boy’s life when he realizes his role as a man, and he begins to understand the challenges he might have to face alone. Finding this out likely happens during a boy’s early teens, but he only becomes a man when he finally accepts it, and begins to learn how to navigate life while dealing with it. This song was written in repetition. The first half is a boy reiterating what he knows about what it is to be a man.

Repeating the things he’s been told over the years “what needs to be done, I do it or die, I can’t complain, I cannot cry,” in combination with the things he has learned from his life experiences. In the second half, repeating the same exact lyrics from the previous verse in a more serious tone, he has now become a man. With a voice of understanding, he has accepted the challenges he will have to face as a man.

Track 2 "If I Go Away." This song is about the fear of being alone. Sometimes we move so fast that we can leave behind those whom we love. This song talks about being on a mission to pursue one’s dreams in life, and how it feels to want to take everyone they love with them. “I remember when we used to hang out in the hall,” things have changed so much, and they will continue to change. Ultimately, the request is that If I Go Away, can’t we all go away together?

Track 3 "Low-Key." This song is about quietly staying focused on your goals. When following your dreams in life, many people might try to distract you from moving forward by telling you what they think you should be doing. This can slow you down, or cause you to go down the wrong path. “I just be killing it low-key, flipping it low-key, whipping it low-key,” are all references to getting your stuff together, and moving forward towards your goals without feeling the need to make an announcement for everyone to celebrate with you.

Track 4 "NIGHT." 2021 Single, NIGHT. When the sun rises in the day we get up and take care of business. We go to work, we run our errands, and take care of all the important things we need to get done. We might even suppress our urges for the sake of being responsible. But, when the NIGHT falls, responsibilities are a task uninvited, and where fun is invited. This song is about finding a woman I’d like to have fun with. “Come be human with me,” suggest that we give in to our natural nature and come together.

Track 5 "NO2DAYS." “No two days are the same.” While pursuing your dreams in life, it can seem like everyday presents itself with a new obstacle, or a new opportunity. Finding a flow of things might be a challenge, and can cause one to feel discouraged. NO2DAYS is about overcoming those challenges, and learning to embrace the ups and downs of the journey. This song is about finding balance. “I’m in my own lane,” mentioning that I have found a path that suits what I strive to accomplish, and I understand how to navigate it.

Track 5 "100." I wrote this song after quarantine ended. My experience during the 2020 pandemic enabled me to develop a hunger for pursuing a life that makes me excited about living it. Before quarantine I had a good job, I was adulting relatively well. Although I was heading in a direction where I could maintain my responsibilities and grow, it seemed as if I let my passions dry, and I wasn’t taking any risk. The pandemic was a wake up call for me to be more honest with myself when it comes to what I want. We only have so much time, even though we may not know how it’s all going to work out, it’s better to live trying to make things happen instead of just letting things happen. “I’m on 100, I’m coming for hundreds,” in reference to being on high alert, eagerly searching for opportunities to move forward.
